Autosexed breeds are purebred lines that naturally show male/female differences the moment they hatch. These traits are built into the breed’s genetics and stay consistent generation after generation.
CURRENT BREEDS
Cream Legbar
Lay true blue eggs that have sky‑blue shells with color that runs all the way through, making them one of the most consistent and reliable blue‑egg breeds.
Welsummer
Lay medium to dark brown eggs covered in beautiful speckles. Each one looks hand‑painted and completely unique.
Why people choose autosexed breeds

Sex‑linked chicks are hybrid crosses, created by pairing specific rooster and hen lines so their chicks hatch with color differences based on sex. Change either parent, and the sex‑link disappears.
CURRENT BREED
Mar Bars
Marans × Crested Cream Legbars
Most pullets will lay olive or green‑toned eggs, but there is always a chance of dark brown eggs if the Marans pigment dominates and the blue gene expresses more lightly.
Why people choose sex‑linked chicks
Welsummers are considered an auto‑sexing breed, but their markings can be challenging to read, even for experienced breeders. The stripe clarity, head pattern, and shading vary from line to line, which can make male/female identification less straightforward than other autosexed breeds.
At Lazzzy D Farm, we’ve been working with Welsummers and we do our very best to sex them accurately. Even though, because their markings can be subtle,
there is always a small chance of error.
If a mistake happens and you receive a cockerel instead of a pullet, we will provide a replacement chick at no cost with proof of purchase. Your trust matters to us, and we stand behind every chick that leaves our farm.
